Cluster present results at Industrial Technologies
The Clean Manufacturing cluster demonstrated a shared view of a modern Eco-factory at the Industrial Technologies conference in Athens. REFORM, AREUS, ENEPLAN and EMC2-factory shared a stand providing information on the latest developments in the projects.
During the event, further joint training and exhibition opportunities
were identified and the projects agreed to develop joint banners and
leaflets to give a consolidated view of clean manufacturing to
industry. The REFORM exhibit included a number of industrial
demonstration parts, including a carbon-fibre wheel made by Fraunhofer
for Formtech to demonstrate their tape-layup process, and the TEKS wing
made using recycled composite. It also showed recycled fibres with
near-virgin properties, an augmented reality demonstration and examples
of recycled water from the waterjet machine, along with precision-cut
The REFORM coordinator, Dr Rosemary Gault, and TEKS CEO,Dr Roland Krain, gave an overview of competitive green manufacturing during the workshop on resource-efficient manufacturing, and Dr Krain demonstrated how introducing REFORM technologies not only made products greener, but also gave TEKS a competitive advantage.
