Facade Cladding - ACCIONA

The application of cladding in building façades contributes to energy efficiency and aesthetic appearance. The façade cladding under consideration is made out of glass fibre and epoxy resin and has a polyurethane foam core to enhance insulating properties.  FacadeCladdingMed.png

However, the current forming (hand lay-up) and milling processes lead to a high level of scrap and a large number of defective parts. Therefore the forming and milling technologies developed in REFORM can be used, resulting in a significant reduction in waste,scrap and cost. Furthermore, due to the part characteristics,  recycling parts using existing methods is too expensive and produces poor quality fibres. Ultimately, using REFORM technologies, progress will be made in the fields of forming, milling/drilling, dismantling and recycling. This undoubtedly will have a beneficial effect on the overall life-cycle costs of the part.
